Dorvain General Election, 1826
rdfs:comment
The Dorvain General Election, 1826 was held on the 27th May 1826 to elect the Eighth Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 100 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. Following Clegg's victory, the electoral map was re-drawn in order for his party to have a fairer chance of other victories in the future, which many royalists were in favour of in order to be able to expel incompetent leaders like Weld in the future.

The Dorvain General Election, 1826 was held on the 27th May 1826 to elect the Eighth Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dorvain. Each of the 100 parliamentary constituencies elected one Member of Parliament to Parliament. The Democrats won their first ever election, with a thin majority of two seats. Harrison Weld, leader of the Royalists proved extremely unpopular due to incompetence. However due to being friends with the King he remained as party leader despite many within the party trying to depose him. Partnered with this, Bernard Clegg was popular with some royalists and as such, he managed enough cross-over appeal to win some inner-city seats, finally winning an election for the party. He ran a big-tent campaign whilst Weld's Royalists did very little, with many in the party being less than enthusiastic about the election. Following Clegg's victory, the electoral map was re-drawn in order for his party to have a fairer chance of other victories in the future, which many royalists were in favour of in order to be able to expel incompetent leaders like Weld in the future.
