Spinefish were a species of animal from the planet Vodran in the Vodran system of the Si'Klaata Cluster in Hutt Space. They lived in the rivers of their homeworld alongside the predatory dianoga and were caught by the native sentient species, the Vodran. The spinefish were caught by the Vodran during a primitive stage of the sentients history, at a time when they lived above the rivers in suspended thatched huts from which they hung down nets to entangle the spinefish swimming below. This practice was continued until as late as around 25,100 BBY. The Spinefish is a small, passive fauna species and subspecies of the Hoopfish. It resides in the Blood Kelp Zone and the Lost River. Its in-game description states that it uses its appearance to hide from predators by playing dead. Like Hoopfish, Spinefish are cathemeral and easy to catch, having moderate Food values.
