The Great Upgrade was an event in the Shattered Beasts timeline. After The Great War (SB) was long over and Cybertron's resources almost gone the evil Autobots where forced to upgrade into smaller, more fuel efficent forms the Maximals were the result. Meanwhile what was left of the Decepticon army captured one of the newly created Maximals and reversed engineered the technology from him and changed themselves into the benevolent Predacons. After this, with both sides newly revigorated fighting broke out once agin.
