The YL series was a series of freighters produced by Corellian Engineering Corporation. Hoping to build off of the momentum that the wildly successful YT craft had provided them, Corellian Engineering Corporation brought in several designers, and professionals from the various fields that transport craft were utilized in, and got to work designing new craft that were specialized for various fields, while still retaining the modularity that made the YT a household name. Despite not possessing any specific drawbacks or mechanical flaws, the YL Series was discontinued after only a decade of production. Most credit its ultimate demise to a failure to properly advertise the individual craft, which were always designed for and intended to be sold to very specific niche markets. Due to the shortened run of the product line, these craft have become somewhat of a rarity, though a credit to CEC's workmanship many of the vessels still operate in the space lanes today.
