In early-2376, the Sugihara was near Eerlik when it responded to a distress call from a Talarian cargo ship. While assisting them, the USS da Vinci also sent a distress call when they came under attack by the Senbolma. When the Sugihara arrived, the da Vinci had taken care of the situation. (SCE eBook: Fatal Error) In mid-2376, the Sugihara travelled to planet Vrinda, where they retrieved Starfleet crewpersons Carol Abramowitz, Bart Faulwell, and Soloman, and also took custody of accused criminal Martin Mansur.
