The Declaration of Independence was still remembered in one alternate by the states of North America well into the 21st Century, particularly by the original 13 colonies, and the various nations that existed after the United States fell apart in the early 1800s. Crosstimers such as Justin Monroe were frustrated by the fact that few states actually adhered to the spirit of the Declaration. Historians find this interesting because they feel Jefferson had enough already, and was apparently quite willing to make more on his own. Recent scholars have speculated that the main purpose of the Declaration was not for liberty of the states. It was in fact the very first 3-D Magic Eye poster, done entirely in quill pen. It was sent to King George as a hidden 3-D picture of a pony in a manner similar to modern ASCII art. Unfortunately, George read the article instead of focusing on the picture and took its contents seriously, causing the entirely unnecessary birth of a nation.
