Talon Trot

Talon Trot is a move found in the Banjo-Kazooie series that is learned by Bottles on Mumbo's Mountain. This move involves Kazooie running while having Banjo on her back. This can be used to conquer steep slopes, even though some are too steep for even the Talon Trot. This move makes the duo move quicker. It also appears in Banjo-Tooie as one of the moves still known by Banjo and Kazooie. Kazooie can only use this move however when the two are separated. n19:abstract
This move reappears in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge as one of the moves learned by Bozzeye, Bottles' ancestor. This move is learned at Breegull Beach, but only if Banjo has Kazooie with him. The Talon Trot is an ability learned from Bottles on Mumbo's Mountain in Banjo-Kazooie and which carries over to Banjo-Tooie. It is one of the earliest moves learned and also one of the most useful. Hold Image:Z button (N64).png and press Image:C left button (N64).png, and Kazooie will stick her legs out of the backpack and carry Banjo around as long as Image:Z button (N64).png is held. Not only does this allow the duo to move much faster, but the Talon Trot is needed to tackle slopes too steep for Banjo to walk up on his own (although some slopes are too steep even for the Talon Trot). In Banjo-Kazooie, this move must be learned in order to proceed to the next area in Gruntilda's Lair after Mumbo's Mountain. In Banjo-Tooie, Kazooie retains the Talon Trot's slope-climbing ability when separated from Banjo. In Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, the Talon Trot is learned from Bozzeye on Breegull Beach, and has the same functionality as the move from the console games. To execute it, hold Image:L button (GBA).png and press Image:R button (GBA).png. Unlike its function in the previous incarnations, however, no buttons need to be held while running with this move. Kazooie comments that she would use Talon Trot if she could remember how at the beginning of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, when she and Banjo hear a loud noise and go outside to investigate. Later, the Lord of Games gives Kazooie and Banjo a Trolley instead of teaching them Talon Trot once again, saying that it was a useless ability. At the end of the game, however, L.O.G. gives Kazooie her abilities back.
