Mitch Bryce was the United States Secretary of Commerce during the Bartlet administration. Secretary Bryce had a scheduled meeting with the President at 3:30 PM, where he voiced his displeasure over not being consulted on a speech. ("20 Hours in America (Part I)") Secretary Bryce attended the emergency Cabinet meeting, voting for the invocation of the 25th Amendment, temporarily removing Bartlet from the Presidency. He voiced concern over the fact that should President Bartlet give orders contradicting Acting-President Glen Allen Walken, "I think there are those in this room, myself included, who would want to follow those orders. And now we have two governments." After President Bartlet's reassurance he would not be giving orders, Secretary Bryce voted "aye" on the invocation. ("Twenty-Five") Secretary Bryce was played by Alan Dale in "20 Hours in America" and "Twenty-Five."
