During the Four Years War between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, in reference stardate 1/9504 (circa 2253), an Orion merchant vessel was transporting dilithium to Alphosa when it was intercepted by a Klingon task force and was destroyed, triggering the Laxala Incident.
