Teal'c of Chulak
rdfs:comment
Teal'c of Chulak [pronounced ˈtiːəlk], also known as Teal'c, and sometimes referred to as 'Shol'va' (traitor) by those allied with the Goa'uld, is a Jaffa from the planet Chulak who serves as a member of Stargate Command's flagship reconnaissance team SG-1. Prior to this, he served the Goa'uld and System Lord Apophis as his First Prime. As a younger man, Teal'c learned that Apophis was not God. During his tenure as First Prime, Teal'c was forced to commit many atrocities in his god's name, although he would always try to bend Apophis' decision making. Teal'c is a Jaffa warrior and statesman currently serving his first term as a Senator in the Senate of the Free Jaffa Nation, following over a decade of membership on SG-1 as cultural advisor and guide for humanity. Born on the planet Chulak, he spent most of his life as the First Prime of the Goa'uld Apophis, but was guided toward the path of the Jaffa Rebellion by his oldest friend and mentor, Bra'tac. Soon after the formation of the SGC, Teal'c defected to the human cause and was instrumental in toppling the System Lords and later in bringing an end to the Ori crusade. Now retired from combat duties, he has instead focused his efforts on the political arena, and is one of the most-visible figures of the Progressive Party in Jaffa politics.

n7:abstract
In 1997, Teal'c eventually gained the strength and courage to finally abandon his service and devotion to the Goa'uld forever which he achieved by defecting from Apophis and joining the Tau'ri, Teal'c pledging his loyalty to Stargate Command and also the cause of the Jaffa Rebellion. Teal'c is 166 years old, having aged fifty years after being trapped on board the Odyssey during the Battle of the Asgard Legacy.
