The team appears to have suspended operations for the the 1983-84 season and the franchise may have been reactivated as the Compuware Ambassadors for the 1985-86 season. The Ambassadors oganization had already existed since the mid-70's and was owned by Peter Karmanos. He would later attempt to purchase several OHL franchises and was unsucessful at bringing a team to Detroit. He would eventually acquire an expansion team; the Detroit Compuware Ambassadors for the 1990-91 season.
