"__NOWYSIWYG__ Okay the title isn't the best but simply put \u2013 and I'm not sure if this actually needs a WR post but better to be safe than sorry \u2013 I propose that we change the times that fics are considered inactive and discontinued. Currently, a fic is inactive if it isn't updated within 3 months, and discontinued after 6. I propose doubling those times. After having been active in another fandom and seeing the frequency of other fics, I believe that it's too short a time period. Fanons sometimes take a while and that's okay. Not only that but the wiki does seem a teensy bit quieter (but i've only been back like 2 days so). So, after 6 months I think the inactive fanon tag can be added, and after 12, the discontinued."@en . Thoughts, comments, queries? 02:55, August 2, 2017 (UTC) I agree. -- 03:19, August 2, 2017 (UTC) Same. -- 04:50, August 2, 2017 (UTC) Check. Additionally, I would make an official exception for stories of which the author is still active on the wiki. 05:50, August 2, 2017 (UTC) 100% agree with that. 06:53, August 2, 2017 (UTC) Would the discontinued/inactive labels officially count if the author says so and it meets the other criteria? 08:02 August 2, 2017 (UTC) As I remember, the original definition of an inactive fanon is one that is not expected to release new chapters anytime soon and the definition of a discontinued fanon is one that is not expected to release new chapters ever. The 3/6 and 6/12 month benchmarks are simply times when the category might be automatically applied, but in the end, the author should of course have final say if he or she is reachable. -- 08:07, August 2, 2017 (UTC) Oh yes, that's definitely the case. I simply made this forum to more firmly establish a current benchmark because fandom culture (and this wiki's culture) has definitely shift. Not for the worse (or better); it's just changed. 10:53, August 2, 2017 (UTC) I agree with LL's proposal. -- 14:38, August 2, 2017 (UTC)"@en .
