Although there was nothing to play for for Rovers, with both promotion and relegation being impossible, Hartlepool were still in danger of heading back down to League Two if they suffered a heavy defeat and other results went against them. The signs were not good for Hartlepool when Jo Kuffour and Darryl Duffy both scored in the opening five minutes to give Rovers an early 2\u20130 advantage, but Daniel Nardiello pulled a goal back midway through the first half. The Pirates started the second half in the same fashion they started the first, with two quick goals, but this time it only took three minutes to score them both. Rickie Lambert found the back of the net in the first minute of the second half, and Aaron Lescott scored his first goal at the Mem two minutes later to complete the scoring. Fortunately for Hartlepool some of the other results went their way and they managed to stay up in spite of the defeat. The match was notable for three other reasons, besides Lescott's goal. It was the biggest win Rovers had ever had over Hartlepool, youngster Charlie Reece made his first start for Rovers, having made one substitute appearance the previous season, and Rickie Lambert scored his fiftieth goal for the Pirates. Rovers ended the game, and the season, in eleventh place in League One."@en . "1"^^ . "Nardiello"@en . "14"^^ . . "15"^^ . . "Hartlepool United"@en . "10"^^ .
