"The M9B4 Wolverine SPAAA is the latest version of the long serving Wolverine SPAAA, a half track vehicle mounting a selection of missile pods for anti-aircraft duties. The Wolverine is used to target and engage enemy aircraft at exceedingly long ranges using its own or linked RADAR systems. The aircraft's primary armament consists of four pods, carrying five MIM-44 Slamdunk missiles. These pods are stacked and mounted on a turret, allowing the vehicle to track targets for boresight launches without having to move the platform. The turret also carries the sensor systems, including a sky searching AESA RADAR, which can for down behind the pods for stowage, a forward facing target tracking RADAR for directing the missiles upon launch and co-ordination and a cluster of sensor systems, including a electro-optical telescopic camera, hybridized night vision/thermal sight, combined LIDAR/rangefinder and a magnetic array. This allows it to track targets both actively and passively, across multiple spectrums. This turret is stabilized and entirely automated. This launcher, and its sensors are linked to the War Net, allowing the battery commander to direct fire remotely and co-ordinate with other UNSC sensor assets, such as forward reconnaissance, UAVs, reconnaissance jets, AWACS and satellite systems to fire outside of the launchers sensor range. The vehicle is lightly armoured and equipped with a half-track style layout, with a pair of wheels for steering at the front and a pair of powered tracks at the back for forward motion and manoeuvring. The three man crew sit inside the cab in a 'fighter jet' style layout, with each one behind the other. The crew consists of the driver, the gunner, who operates the fire control, sensor and target priority systems, even operating it manually if needs be, and the commander, who operates the remote weapon and directs fire in co-ordination with the battery commander. To the right of the cab is the weapon station, for close in defence against possible infantry threats."@en . "M9B4 SPAAA"@en . . "M9B4 Wolverine Self Propelled Anti Aircraft Artillery"@en .
