It evolved to live exclusively on the shores of the great mars sea, now much larger than it's ancestor, Gillevinia straata. It feeds mainly on iron it extracts from it's iron rich cousins but occasionally will eat in the soil if prey is scarce. Bestiolae ferrum has developed a translucent body in order to blend in to it's environment so it can jump out and catch it's prey when feeding on them."@en .
