They are from the village of Buranovo (Brangurt), Udmurtia, halfway between the Volga and the Urals in Russia. However, only six were allowed to appear on the Eurovision stage due to contest rules. The band performs most of their songs in the Udmurt language. The group had previously participated in their country's Eurovision song selection in 2010 where they finished third. The same year, the group started a fund for the rebuilding of Trinity Church in Buranovo and all of the group's income is donated into this fund.
