"The Knights of the Shores are an organization of knights pledged to follow neither political nor religious motivations. Its' ranks are made up mostly of paladins, fighters and clerics. Of the religious followers, the priests are most likely to be allied with the Triad or the Watcher, although there are rare members that follow the Morninglord. The Knights are sworn to protect the Shores of Winter from evil threats wherever they might reside and, as such, are not entirely bound to any jurisdiction unlike the soldiers of the cities. Therefore their allegience to the cause of Good is followed strongest by members of the Good alignment; rarely are those who perform questionable deeds allowed to pledge themselves to the service of the Order without first proving their good intentions."@en . . . Several times in recent history have the Knights helped defend the Shores of Winter against the threat of orcs and . Just before the third battle of Frostkeep, the knights were called back to Tarloc to deal with the Red Plague quarantine in South Tarloc. Unfortunately, the ship carrying the knights was mysteriously sank in a storm on the Sea of Winter, leaving no survivors. For the months following, the Knights of the Shores maintained a very low presence while trying to rebuild its' ranks. Originally, the Knights had their headquarters in the Temple of the Triad in Tarloc, but were forced to leave it during the Red Star crisis by the Red Guard. After the crisis was over, the Knights of the Shores constructed a new stronghold on the same spot where the Tarloc and Red Guard forces had engaged each other at Ashrin Crossing. No sooner had the stronghold been constructed, did the Knights declare themselves independent from the control of any one government upon the Shores of Winter."@en .
