The incident took place a day after death warrant on the Spine was issued by the Queen's delegation, following a yet unknown set of events. During this, the Convocation of Elrendar set out to aid the Forsaken to bring the Spine to justice in accordance with the warrant, and they in turn were assisted by various, other members of the Horde with the same goal. In their pursuit for the Spine, they were brought south to the Thandol Span, on which the Spine was presumably resting from their travels. Upon noticing the approaching band of Horde, however, the Spine was scrambled to positions, and was about set off when a company of the Queen's Dreadguard was spotted taking up defensive position at the Khaz Modan end of the bridge. This company was in fact returning from a skirmish in the Twilight Highlands when they recieved the warrant by raven, and instead of taking a ship back to Tirisfal, they were instructed to guard the Thandol Span in case the Spine was going to escape that way. Sensing their encirclement, the presumed leader of the Spine, Nathan Black, attempted to coerce the Convocation and following warriors into letting the Spine go due to their claim of the falsehood of the Queen's goals and purposes. While the 'representative' of the Convocation wasn't convinced, the act had bought the Spine time to prepare an escape, and when Nathan revealed this intention, he released a cloud of impervious cloud of smoke which obscured the Spine utterly. Meanwhile, the Dark Command initiated a brutal assault on the Dreadguard ranks, whose numbers were decimated from 15 to a mere 3 before the cloud dissipated and the Dark Command turned their attention on the Convocation. The ensuing fight served as a distraction while the Spine left their supply cart and galloped off, free of pursuers. The Dark Command fell eventually by the authorities, but they had served their duty in buying time. During the course of the fighting, the former High Executor Sinquija Cid\u00E9 was confronted by Executor Galliard Mortime Crokford and bested in a duel, which ended in the apprehension of the rebel after the loss of his arm. He was subsequently brought back to the Undercity for questioning. The incident indirectly catalysed the uprising of The Spine."@en .
