"Reginald Marsh (17th September, 1926 - 9th February, 2001) played Cockney betting shop owner Dave Smith irregularly through the 1960s and 1970s after first appearing in the guest role of Mr Lawther in March 1961. In between two of these stints he also appeared in a more \"upper-class\" role in The Visitor, an episode of the Spin-off comedy Pardon the Expression. Marsh, married to actress Rosemary Murray, started in repertory and was in regular work on television throughout his career, and in the 1970s was a regular guest star in sitcoms, tending to play combatative authority figures in shows such as The Good Life, George and Mildred, and Terry and June, the latter part being essentially recreated in the 1990s when he appeared alongside June Whitfield in a guest role on Terry and Julien."@en .
