"New Russian Federation"@en . . . "The New Russian Federation was formed in late December 2015, shortly after members of the Russian military overthrew the ruling government and assumed control, with Ivan Stagleishov as their leader. Backed by the criminal syndicate Blatnoi, troops from all branches of the Russian Armed Forces joined the coup d'etat in the days after the uprising, including the Air Force and the Black Sea Fleet. From December 31, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization began cooperating with Russian troops opposing the rebels, recovering much territory from NRF control in several days. In January 15, the loyalist forces, backed by Task Force 108, besieged the capital of Moscow, liberating the city after heavy combat and a Trinity missile levelling its suburbs. Stagleishov offered to deliver the sole remaining Trinity in exchange for political immunity, but negotiations failed when Andrei Markov, having been shot down over the city, entered the Kremlin and murdered him. Despite the failure of the coup, remnants of the NRF continued existing well after the war. In 2018, ex-Russian Air Force aircraft attacked United States assets in Tokyo, Japan in what became known as the \"Haneda Incident\"."@en . . .
