"__NOWYSIWYG__ Is it possible to merge the Answers wiki into the Avatar Wiki, as was done with the fanon? As you would recall, I was a rather active user on the wiki and my old account currently holds 19th place. That, too me, indicates a great lack of activity in the wiki. Perhaps it could be remedied by merging the two wikis and using the Answers wiki as a portal. While I love the answers wiki, I am not sure that it should continue as a standalone wiki. What are your thoughts? -- 20:57, April 19, 2015 (UTC) Wiki mergers are always possible with the consent of both wikis, but I am against this idea. An answers wiki is something entirely different than a normal wiki. Their entire build up is specifically geared to accommodate a typical answer fashion. Merging it with this wiki would throw off that entire balance and flood this wiki with loads and loads of unneeded pages. 21:53, April 19, 2015 (UTC) Per LL, not necessary at all. 23:18, April 19, 2015 (UTC) Is there perhaps anything that could be done to increase activity on the Answers wiki? Perhaps it would be possible to have a main page link to the wiki. 00:27, April 20, 2015 (UTC) If there was a way to access the positives of such a move without any drawbacks or detriments, than I would not just support this, but I would happily be the first to support such a move. As it is in practice, I oppose per LL. -- 04:08, April 20, 2015 (UTC) Would somebody please explain the drawbacks and detriments of such a move? I am not very sure what the problem is. 06:45, April 20, 2015 (UTC) Big detriment: the thousands of questions would be moved here and would as such flood our otherwise rather clean wiki. We have standards in place that assure that pages are not randomly created, but always grouped if it's beneficial for informational purposes or due to their length. The goal of this wiki is to be encyclopedic, for people to peruse our articles and read them to find the answers they might have. The Answers Wiki, however, mostly caters to the, no offense to anyone, lazy reader who doesn't want to do the research and as opposed to reading Korra's article to find out which age she was when the Red Lotus tried to kidnap her the first time, they will ask that question and have someone answer it for you. That's not the point of this wiki and is annoying for the editors to also have to pay attention to minute questions like that that can all be answered with \"read the article\". Don't get me wrong, every now and again, you actually get a good question, but those are largely overshadowed by simple and redundant questions, making this a very undesirable merger in my opinion. While I am 100% against a merger, I can be okay with adding a link to the AAW somewhere on the main page, perhaps underneath the User of the Month bubble. 07:37, April 20, 2015 (UTC) Understood. I see the merger to be unnecessary, but I do like the idea of a link. Wasn't there something back in 2011 on the sidebar of this wiki? I am pretty sure I found it like that, not in its currently hidden state. 08:35, April 20, 2015 (UTC) The position of the link to the AAW has not changed. If you label it to be hidden now, it was hidden then too. 08:37, April 20, 2015 (UTC) I would also support having a link on the main page. While I don't think the activity there will change drastically, it might get a little more attention. 20:54, April 20, 2015 (UTC)"@en .
