"Skinbrothering (Sayerthenner: Em Tenia U'Paua Ap Kilim, literally \"Being Brother Who'Kills By Skinning/Flaying,\" usually shortened to Tenia U'Kilit, \"Brother Who Flays\") is a torturous method of execution popular in Sayerthenn wherein the Skinbrother (or \"Skinbrotherer\" to distinguish from Jaumai Deyla, the method's namesake) flays skin off of the victim's arm, and then stuffs it down their throat to suffocate them with it. It was first used by Aye the Queen, and Jayma to murder the Queen's own brother, Jaumai, using a skincloak made of Great Emperor of the Stone Mulket Gaha Gayush, whom Jaumai had himself flayed. The method was further popularized during the 678 Rebellion in Sayerthenn, when the Smelly Blue King was killed using it by rioters angry at him for the Kornumukfear or \"Burning of the Hornmen.\" The Blue King had previously flayed hornmen, and made skincloaks of them, believing that they would make him invulnerable (something told to him by the Red Alchemists' Guild). These cloaks were used to kill him. The 678 Rebellion is so-called because it was the first successful Sayerthenner revolt in 678 years, ever since the death of the Wet Blue King (who was drowned in rainwater for his inability to act after the frozen hurricane Al Kalar), who was followed by the Handsome Blue King, and his Eunuch General Jeg Hohn. The Rebellion was of huge significance since it effectively ended the influence of the Red Alchemists in Sayerthenn, and made Sayerthenn a very weak country in the century before the 2nd Great War. This was a barbaric time in Sayerthenn's history, which began to end with the Hardliner's Era, thirty or so years before Tale of Zul, around the time of Har Har Il Kalar's childhood. Skinbrothering entered its final stage, becoming a state-sponsored form of execution. The exact method recommended by Magayes is herein laid out: 1. \n* Have the criminal restrained using chains, 2. \n* Have a bit put in the criminal's mouth, 3. \n* Have another criminal - the skinbrother - put in the cell, on the promise that they will be fed for their assistance 4. \n* Have any servants leave the room, and hand the second criminal a carver's knife through the cell door 5. \n* Have the skinbrother kick the first criminal in the face to break his teeth, 6. \n* Have the skinbrother flay the arms of the first criminal, 7. \n* Have the skinbrother shove the flayed skin down the first's criminal's mouth 8. \n* Possible results are: the death of both criminals (with the first either suffocating or bleeding to death, and the second bleeding to death or later dying of an infection), the death of just one criminal (with any of the above being possibilities), or neither dying. 9. \n* If the skinbrother survives, make good on your promise to feed him. 10. \n* If both criminals survive, bring in other criminals, and restart the process."@en . .
