Antonelli decided to travel to Spain and present a doll to the Court in an effort to ingratiate himself with the royal family. While sailing to Cadiz on ship, his vessel was intercepted by Muslim pirate Jan Janszoon. Janszoon discovered the doll and interrogated Antonelli, who shared everthing he knew about Grantville.
