At the beginning of Knife of Dreams, Eamon Valda is the Lord Captain Commander of the Whitecloaks, and is at his headquarters, a hunting lodge in Amadicia. When Trom arrives, in company with Galad and others, and asks if the Trial Beneath The Light may be invoked, he agrees, claiming to wish to preserve the old ways.
