"Adrianus I Augustus"@en . "TBA"@en . "TBA"@en . "Adrianus I (4 December 57 AD- 23 June 133 AD) was the eight member of the Argead-Ptolemaic dynasty of Iberian Empire. He was the son of Ptolemy II. He succeeded his nephew Titus Flavius II in 114, at the age of fifty-one and ruled until his death. On 14 August 114, his nephew Flavius was assassinated in a palace conspiracy involving several guards and servants of the late emperor; on the very same day he was declared emperor by the Iberian Senate, on the grounds that he would restore the liberties that the senate formally exercised. Once he was firmly in power he abandoned this policy. Adrianus is remembered as a successful soldier-emperor who presided over a great military expansion. He is also known for his philanthropic rule, overseeing extensive public building programs and implementing social welfare policies, which earned him his enduring reputation among the best emperors to rule the Iberian empire."@en .
