"Linda Woolverton (1952 - ) is an American writer who is notable for writing the screeplay for Disney's animated feature film Beauty and the Beast, and co-wrote the screenplay for The Lion King. After both films were released, Woolverton went on to write the musical version of Beauty and the Beast and assisted on adapting The Lion King to the stage. She also co-wrote the book for the Broadway musical Aida (along with Robert Falls and David Henry Hwang), and wrote the book for Lestat.
