Initially, Khar disguised himself as a regular cat, though he was still so bright and golden, Reulan called him Sunshine. The 'stray' cat adopted Reulan, following him everywhere, even into services in the chapel, where he sat quietly before the altar. Reulan began to think Sunshine was more than an average cat when he shouted in Reulan's mind, warning him before he stepped on a venomous snake. Khar confessed that he could talk, and gave Reulan his proper name. Khar asked for fish for a reward, using the ploy to convince Reulan he should make his once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to Sunhame for the Summer Solstice services that year. As they journeyed to Sunhame, Khar grew progressively larger. By the time they walked into the plaza before the central temple of Vkandis, Khar had completely shaken off his disguise of a stray cat and was in his natural Firecat form. The presence of Khar, along with a little prompting from Vkandis himself, lead to Reulan being acknowledged and crowned Son of the Sun, despite his objections."@en . . . "Sun in Glory"@en .
