They were moderately successful in the Oberliga, finishing in third place in the league seven years in a row from 1963-1969. When the Oberliga was reduced to two teams in 1970, Crimmitschau became one of the many victims. A successor club, BSG Einheit Crimmitschau, was formed to play in the amateur DDR-Bestenermittlung."@en .
