"The Third North American War began in 1939 and 1945, and was the largest of the three wars in North America. At the beginning of the war, the Confederacy, Canada, California (the Alliance of \"C's\") were aligned with the Axis powers. The Central American Union, Caribbean Federation, and United States would end up joining the Allies. The CAU joined right away, so at the start of the conflict, the Confederacy and California launched a joint invasion of Mexico, but was repelled, and a stalemate persisted until 1941. In late 1940, Spain entered the war on the side of Britain and France and invaded the Caribbean Federation. Caribbean Forces repelled the Spanish attack, and launched a counterattack and invaded Spanish-occupied Florida. Britain (hoping to \"bail out\" its ally Spain) entered the North American conflict and invaded the Caribbean Federation as well as Mexico. By April of 1941, both the Caribbean Federation and Mexico collapsed to British invasion. The United States supported Mexico and the CAF in their wars against Britain, and as British forces in Mexico caught Americans caught smuggling arms into Mexico (to support the Mexican resistance), British-American relations greatly deteriorated. On June 19th, British forces occupied American San Diego, and on the 22nd, the United States declared war on the United Kingdom. New fronts opened up, the Californian-American Front, the Canadian-American Front, and the Confederate-American Front. Heavy fighting occurred, mostly inside the United States, with epic battles occurring at Detroit, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Washington DC, and Louisville. Russia's entry into the war on the side of the Axis in late 1942 sealed Britain's fate. With various new fronts opening up against the British around the world, several British troops were forced to leave the North American theater. Also, Russia invaded British Canada from Alaska. From 1943 on, the United States advanced on all fronts, and by the end of 1945 liberated several nations from the British. At the end of the war, American forces occupied Canada, Florida, California, and the Confederacy."@en . .
