Prior to him founding the Society of Darkness he was a shinigami who was in the records for amazing feats he had done although now no records can be found. He was a former student of the Shin\u014D Academy, a near-perfect shinigami who was once aligned with Soul Society. He left them for unknown reasons, all records of Zero were destroyed and Zero had suddenly disappeared off of their records. A few weeks after leaving Soul Society, he set out on a long journey to find 15 of the strongest shinigami's, arrancars and quincies to form together, to create a group which could enforce the law and keep peace. In the Human world he gathers exiled or old shinigami's to help be trainers in his organization, after this period he had eventually gathered a huge powerful force made up of a mixture of races.
