"The Battle of Ruan, also called the Bombing of Ruan, was a small conflict during the Alsakan Crisis on Ruan a few weeks after the initial First Battle of Coruscant. Carried out by the Skeleton Guard at the behest of the Alsakan Union, the Skeleton Guard under the command of Alsakan Major Venator Furtificus were commissioned to attack Ruan. Furtificus was given a large fleet in order to capture the planet, but after events in other concurrent planetary battles do not go as the Alsakans had desired, troops were pulled out of Furtificus's fleet and redirected to where the Alsakans needed them most. Depleted to a smaller fleet, the Alsakans altered the plans for Ruan, deciding only to destroy the planet rather than capture it. As they witnessed the Skeleton Guard approaching, the forces of the Galactic Republic were able to flee the system with thousands of civilians, though the Skeleton Guard did not know that when they arrived. Once they did arrive, Furtificus ordered the Skeleton Guard to commence bombing raids in areas he and the Alsakans deemed to be of strategic importance. The vessels, each with a rack of three bombs, moved to their own positions and began dropping the first bombs. As the bombing was being carried out, Furtificus began to realize that the Republic has evacuated, thereby negating many of his goals for the operation. After he calls the other members of the Skeleton Guard back into orbit, the Ruan storehouses were destroyed and the Skeleton Guard left the system. Although they were able to declare victory, it was not one of the importance that they had hoped for."@en . . . . . . . . "Battle of BessimirBattle of Metellos"@en . "[[starwars:Ruan"@en . . .
