After the season, the franchise would be revived as the Spokane Flyers. The Great Falls Americans name was later used by an American Frontier Hockey League team and America West Hockey League team before the AWHL folded and merged with the North American Hockey League. Notable players during the 2000-2001 AWHL hockey season include Pat Dwyer of the Carolina Hurricans, Bobby Robins of the Binghamton Senators(AHL), and David Printz of the Philadelphia Phantoms(AHL). During this successful season, under the coaching of Swedish born Rikard Gronborg, the Americans won the AWHL championship, beating the Billings Bulls for the trophy."@en .
