"Eduard von Strauss was the Staatsminister of His Imperial Majesty's Government and was the 55th Governor-General of Greater Hulstria. From 3044 to 3055 Strauss served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greater Hulstria and from 3020 to 3032 he served as the Minister of Internal Affairs of Greater Hulstria. Following a stroke that left Maximilian Berleburg incapacitated while in office as Governor-General, the Imperial Diet of Greater Hulstria acted quickly to replace Berleburg who was severely weakened to ensure a continuity of the office's duties and responsibilities. The Act of Governor-General Succession of 3054 was drafted, giving the power to appoint a successor to Berleburg to the Emperor of Hulstria to serve out the rest of Maximilian Berleburg's term. A vote of confidence and consent would then be needed from the Diet itself. The monarch, Godric III of Hulstria, appointed long-time statesman Eduard von Strauss to become the acting Governor-General. The Imperial Diet quickly consented to the appointment, leaving Strauss to fill in the rest of the term while maintaining his position at the Foreign Affairs Ministry. In the fall of 3055 Strauss left his position at the Foreign Ministry to become the Staatsminister of Greater Hulstria, succeeding Vitus von der Mar. Eduard von Strauss was an figure in foreign affairs, becoming a strong advocate for \"international monarchism\", and represented Hulstria in nearly every major event that occured under his tenure. When Strauss left His Imperial Majesty's Government in 3068, he had served for nearly 50 years in the Hulstrian government, becoming one of the most accomplished politician in Hulstrian history. When Eduard von Strauss passed years later a large state funeral was held for him, which was attended by the Monarch and several important politicians and foreign diplomats. A noble from the House of Strauss, Eduard was the second child to the Duke and Duchess of Strauss. The latter, Walburga von Strauss, was the Staatsminister of His Imperial Majesty's Government from 3020 to 3044."@en .
