In 2006 a sequel series, The Galaxy Railways: Crossroads to Eternity(\u9280\u6CB3\u9244\u9053\u7269\u8A9E \uFF5E\u6C38\u9060\u3078\u306E\u5206\u5C90\u70B9\uFF5EGinga Tetsud\u014D Monogatari ~Eien e no Bunkiten~) began broadcasting in Japan for a 26-episode run. Of those 26, only 24 episodes were broadcast on television, with the final two released only on DVD. It has also been announced that on the 25-03-2009, an off take of the series called The Galaxy Railways: Faraway Angels(\u9280\u6CB3\u9244\u9053\u7269\u8A9E \uFF5E\u6700\u679C\u3066\u306E\u30A2\u30F3\u30B8\u30A7\u30E9\uFF5E) will be released as a Drama CD.
