. . "The Edwards was a late-24th century McCall-class fighter-like Federation shuttlecraft attached to the USS Enterprise-E. Edwards was docked in the main shuttlebay when the Argo was on approach to the Sovereign-class starship. (ST calendar: Ships of the Line 2011) John Eaves named this shuttle after the aviation pioneer Glen Edwards. He was a test pilot for the United States Air Force in the late 1940's. In 1947, Edwards died on a test flight of the experimental Northrop YB-49. Three years later, Muroc AFB was renamed Edwards Air Force Base to honor the memory of this fallen aviator. Eaves described this shuttle as a fighter assigned to the Enterprise after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis. http://johneaves.wordpress.com/2011/05/05/the-enterprise-e-shuttle-bay-from-the-sotl-calendar/"@en . . . . . . . .
