Although Chad Jenkins vouched for him, Bauer's wages were. Angry, Bauer bumped into a rabbi on the street. Bauer's anger and his anti-Semitism exploded, and he assaulted the rabbi before being quickly restrained by a nearby police officer. Bauer shared the encounter with Chad Jenkins, who, having no desire to employ a bigot, fired Bauer and convinced him to leave Grantville for good.
