Kraven later returns to Manhattan along with Calypso to hunt down the Lizard. He kills Lizards' cronies easily and battles the Lizard and defeats him. He is about to kill him when Spidey intervenes and in the ensuing commotion Lizard pushes Kraven and escapes with Calypso chasing him. Kraven decides that Spidey is a better trophy than the Lizard and battles him. Although he uses potions to get the power of various animals like the bear, eagle and a panther he is defeated by Spidey but he traps Spidey in a room full of lizards. Spidey escapes and fights Kraven again but Kraven turns invisible but Spidey tracks him down with his spider sense. As they fight Kraven attempts to stab spidey but when he hears Lizard and Calypso he disappears taunting Spidey that Calypso had found Lizard and he is in for a surprise.
