Magog
rdfs:comment
Magog is the "keeper of the balance" and general leader of the giants in Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story. Magog is the leader that oversees the trial of Jack Robinson. Magog enjoys writing, reading and other academic and intellectual affairs. However when he's not deep in thought or work, he is often meddling into the affairs of others. Magog was the one that sent the Bent Little Man to sell the first Jack the magic beans, and thus holds himself somewhat responsibile for the entire mess created as a result. Magog is a fallen angel and a member of the Order of the Blackened Denarius. He first appears in Small Favor. Magog was the name of a district within western Richland, sandwiched between Mara and Mannsdale with Moriah Projects to its east and a small border with Achan. __FORCETOC__ Image:Help.png Magog was a rock monster from The Cave of the Wizards. It was given it's name from Dr. Smith. It was played by Paul Kessler in an uncredited role. The Magog are a fearsome parasitic species that features in Andromeda. Magog, Hebrew מגוג, Greek Μαγωγ, [ ma'gog ], is the second of the seven sons of Japheth mentioned in the Table of Nations in Genesis 10. It may represent Hebrew for "from Gog", though this is far from certain. Magog is often associated with apocalyptic traditions, mainly in connection with Ezekiel 38 and 39 which mentions "Gog of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal"; on the basis of this mention, "Gog and Magog" over time became associated with each other as a pair. Magog is a neighborhood along the western edge of Richland, just south of Mara. Magog is a city of about 23,000 people in southeastern Quebec, Canada. It is in the region of the Eastern Townships (Cantons de l'Est). Magog is a Toa who was strange Toa because he was a brother to Makuta Zaktuen -- Three Days Grace, "Pain" Magog, the Shedite Prince of Cruelty, never really got a break. A former Kyriotate of Stone under David, he grew to love destructiveness and conquest too much and Fell in the 9th century B.C. But just one day after Lucifer crowned him a Prince, he and his followers were sealed in a tomb by David and the young Khalid, where the demons remained until 1998. Shortly after his liberation, Magog was confronted by an indignant Gabriel and has been presumed dead since -- though some GMs may decide that's merely wishful thinking. Magog was the most fearsome and powerful of the Malevilus. He and the other four Malevilus were worshipped as gods by an alternate Roman Empire, having taken over the body of Adolphus Caesar's mother Juno, and planning to do the same to Adolphus when he succeeded to the throne. Shortly after his liberation, Magog was confronted by an indignant Gabriel and has been presumed dead since -- though some GMs may decide that's merely wishful thinking. Josephus identified the offspring of Magog as the Scythians, a name used in antiquity for peoples north of the Black Sea. According to him, the Greeks called Scythia Magogia (Ant., bk. I, 6). Isidore of Seville, writing some centuries later, adds that he is also considered ancestor of the Goths, but notes that this is "because of the similarity of the last syllable" (Etymologiae, IX, 89). Johannes Magnus (1488–1544) stated that Magog's sons were Sven and Gethar, who became the ancestors of the Swedes and the Goths. Queen Christina of Sweden reckoned herself as number 249 in a list of kings going back to Magog. Daniel Juslenius (1676–1752) derived the roots of the Finns from Magog, whose descendants he said migrated to Finland. It has also been variously conjectured that Magog's offspring were the progenitors of the Slavic peoples known to history. According to several mediaeval Irish chronicles, most notably the Auraicept na n-Éces and Lebor Gabála Érenn, the Irish race are a composite including descendants of Japheth's son Magog from "Scythia". Baath (Boath), Jobhath, and Fathochta are the three sons of Magog. Partholón, Nemed, Iobath, and Fenius Farsa are among Magog's descendants. Magog was also supposed to have had a grandson called Heber, whose offspring spread throughout the Mediterranean. There is also a medieval Hungarian legend that says the Huns, as well as the Magyars, are descended from twin brothers named Hunor and Magor respectively, who lived by the sea of Azov in the years after the flood, and took wives from the Alans. The version of this legend in the 14th century Chronicon Pictum equates this Magor with Magog, son of Japheth. Magog is a Toa who was strange Toa because he was a brother to Makuta Zaktuen
