Starfleet Corps of Engineers
rdfs:comment
SCE is commanded by the Command Liaison of Starfleet Corps of Engineers. This position was first created by Starfleet in 2279. Following the Borg invasion of 2381, a detachment from the S.C.E. were assigned to refit Starbase 74, under the supervision of Commander Hugh MacDonald. The refit took several years, and was finally completed in 2383. The SCE also participated in the conversion from Aslan-class to Gandalf-class starships circa late 2600s. The Starfleet Corps of Engineers (also known as Starfleet Engineering or Starfleet Engineering Corps) is a Starfleet division that deals with specialized engineering problems. (DS9: "Rocks and Shoals") In an alternate reality experience by Harry Kim, Kim worked at the Corps of Engineers, although it was called Starfleet Engineering Corps. (VOY: "Non Sequitur") The Starfleet Corps of Engineers (also referred to as "Starfleet Engineering Corps" or SCE) was a special projects division of Starfleet, assigned to deal with projects and missions requiring high degrees of engineering expertise. A series of novellas in the so-called Star Trek Novel Verse. Originally published as e-books, they are reprinted in paperback editions periodically. The series focuses on the crew of the starship da Vinci, a ship attached to, would you believe it, the Corps of Engineers. The series was originally entitled "Star Trek: SCE" (standing in for Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers), before being rebooted as, simply, Corps of Engineers. The paperback collections are as follows:

SCE is commanded by the Command Liaison of Starfleet Corps of Engineers. This position was first created by Starfleet in 2279. Following the Borg invasion of 2381, a detachment from the S.C.E. were assigned to refit Starbase 74, under the supervision of Commander Hugh MacDonald. The refit took several years, and was finally completed in 2383. The SCE also participated in the conversion from Aslan-class to Gandalf-class starships circa late 2600s. Despite the potential for the dreaded technobabble, the series, like much of the Star Trek Novel Verse, is focused on character and worldbuilding, so it isn't anywhere near as inaccessible as it might sound... The paperback collections are as follows: * 1. Have Tech, Will Travel - collects eBooks 1-4 * 2. Miracle Workers - collects eBooks 5-8 * 3. Some Assembly Required - collects eBooks 9-12 * 4. No Surrender - collects eBooks 13-16 * 5. Foundations - collects eBooks 17-19 * 6. Wildfire - collects eBooks 20-24 * 7. Breakdowns - collects eBooks 25-28 * 8. Aftermath - collects eBooks 29-36 * 9. Grand Designs - collects eBooks 37-42 * 10. Creative Couplings - collects eBooks 43-49 * 11. Wounds - collects eBooks 50-56 * 12. Out of the Cocoon - collects eBooks 57-60 * 13. What's Past - collects eBooks 61-66 The characters of this series also have cameos in other Star Trek Expanded Universe works, such as the novel A Singular Destiny and (briefly) Star Trek Articles of the Federation. Several stories in this series are crossovers with the Star Trek Deep Space Nine relaunch. One of the What's Past prequel stories is also a part of the Star Trek: Vanguard arc.
