Amos Slade Amos Slade
rdfs:comment
Amos Slade (or simply known as Amos) is the main antagonist in Disney's 1981 feature film The Fox and the Hound, and in 2006 midquel. Unlike most Disney Villains, even though he's a hunter, he doesn't come across as being evil. Instead, he just hunts for a living and is very professional at it, until he gets motivated by revenge, rather than that "just because" brand of evil that you see in way too many villains. Amos has been voiced by Jack Albertson in the first film and by Jeff Bennett in the midquel. Amos was a resident of Granny's village, where he lived with his dog Copper. He and Granny had somewhat of a romance in their youth, with him having a large crush on her and often delivering flowers to her door. As he grew older, he became a regular customer of her baking business, with Red Riding Hood delivering to him regularly. He was the first to buy one of Red's attempts at cookies, re-purposing them as dog biscuits for Copper. Red was sad to discover him ravaged by the village's wolf one morning, and Granny in particular mourned for him. "'No Hunting'." "Well, now, we ain't gonna do none of that, are we, Copper? We're just gonna get us a no-good fox!" "Dagnabit!" "Amos, you crafty old Coot! The Devil himself couldn't have done no better!" "You callin' me a liar, you bottle-headed female? I saw it happen!" "Temper?!" "Temper! Woman, you ain't seen my temper!" "If I ever catch that fox in my property again, I'll blast him, and next time I won't miss!" "I ain't got no job I'm a hunting man; I'd rather have a dog than a dollar; So let's go banjo ring-a-ling-a-ding-ho; Give a little hoot and a holler!" "Temper? Temper, woman, you ain't seen my temper!" "If I ever catch that fox in my property again, I'll blast him and next time, I won't miss!"

Write the first section of your page here. Amos Slade (or simply known as Amos) is the main antagonist and later anti-hero of Disney's 1981 feature film The Fox and the Hound, and a minor character in its 2006 midquel. Unlike most Disney Villains, even though he's a hunter, he doesn't come across as being evil. Instead, he just hunts for a living and is very professional at it, until he gets motivated by revenge, rather than that "just because" brand of evil that you see in way too many villains. Amos has been voiced by the late Jack Albertson in the first film and by Jeff Bennett in the midquel. ("Red's Untold Tale")
