rdfs:comment
The Beretta 92 (also Beretta 96 and Beretta 98) is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italy Italy. It was designed in 1972 and production of many variants in different calibers continues to the present day. It is most famous for replacing the M1911 .45 ACP pistol as the standard sidearm of the United States armed forces in 1985 as the M9 pistol. The Beretta 92FS was the main pistol used in Scream. Made in Italy, the Beretta is a 9mm pistol that is currently the official pistol of the United States Military. In subsequent films, it was replaced by the Glock 17. The Beretta 92FS is a handgun that is also the issued sidearm of various military personnel. The 92FS has been made famous through its adoption by the American military as their standard issue sidearm (in its military variant, the M9). Notably, the Beretta was one of the first pistols to feature a double-stacked magazine, giving it around twice the ammunition capacity of most competing pistols when it was first launched. While only 5,000 of the original model were produced, today there are over 50 different models available, including the 93R machine pistol. Notably, an unlicensed copy of the Beretta 92FS is manufactured by Taurus in Brazil. The Beretta 92FS is a weapon featured throughout the Thing-Thing Arena side-series, as well as Thing-Thing 3. Users were not immediately pleased with the M9 as it had lesser stopping power than its predecessor. It was chambered for the 9mm parabellum round and only just narrowly won the competition because it was rather costly. It has remained in service with the US military and its branches but it is due to be possibly replaced sometime around 2012-2013. Beretta 92Fs, also called Beretta 93Rs are handguns used by Selene and other characters in the Underworld series. They are full auto and have 25 to 30 rounds each. The Berettas have been modified to fire full-auto, and contain barrel weights. Beretta currently produces the pistol in four different configurations (FS, G, D and DS) and four calibers: 9×19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, 9×21mm IMI and 7.65mm Luger. The FS has an enlarged hammer pin that fits into a groove on the underside of the slide. The main purpose is to stop the slide from flying off the frame to the rear if it cracks. This was in response to reported defective slides during U.S. Military testing.[6] This is the weapon used by Martin Riggs in the TV series Lethal Weapon. Can be used as a Dual Weapon. Fires quickly (with dual) and has a minimal reload time. A good fall-back weapon. The Beretta 92 (also Beretta 96 and Beretta 98) is a series of semi-automatic pistols designed and manufactured by Beretta of Italy. The model 92 was designed in 1972 and production of many variants in different calibers continues today. The United States armed forces replaced the Model 1911A1 .45 ACP pistol in 1985 with the military spec Beretta 92F, the M9. Although only 5,000 copies of the original design were manufactured from 1975 to 1976, the design is currently produced in four different configurations (FS, G, D and DS) and four calibers. (ATL: "The Siege, Part 1")
