The First Order, simply referred to as the Order, was a political and military faction ruled by Supreme Leader Snoke and allied with the Knights of Ren that came into existence as a result of the fall of the Galactic Empire. In the aftermath of the Battle of Jakku, the Empire formally surrendered to the New Republic by signing the Galactic Concordance, a peace treaty that marked the end of the Galactic Civil War in 5 ABY. In spite of its collapse the Empire's legacy survived in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy where former members of the Imperial Military plotted their return to power. Their cause would grow in support through some Imperial sympathizers who briefly inhabited a wing of Republic politics before abandoning the nascent democracy to join the Imperial-based movement in the Unkn The First Order was a military unit of the Cardassian Central Command. The Third Battalion was a part of the First Order. Their motto was "death to all." (DS9: "Empok Nor") During the Dominion War detachments from this order, according to Damar's speech at the start of the Cardassian Rebellion, attacked the Dominion outposts and cloning facility on Rondac III. (DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil") The Cardassian First Order was a military unit in the Cardassian Guard. The First Order was stationed in the central and rimward areas of the Cardassian Union and is the oldest and most prestigious order in the Guard. It has seen much action against the Klingon Empire but little against the Federation prior to the Dominion War. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon) The first order took great pride in slaughtering villages of innocent people and blowing up planets because that is what evil organizations do. The First Order (previously known as the Galactic Empire) is the most powerful team known in the galaxy. It was founded by Snoke, the ugly uncle of Slenderman and Voldemort and the being who doesn't like to show his face because he is too shy to be tormented by the fandom. They are the worst enemy of many organizations in the world.

Inspired by the fascist ideals of the Empire, this movement ultimately resulted in the formation of the First Order. In the decades that followed the Empire's defeat, the First Order gradually built its strength through the secret mobilization of new fleets and armies in violation of the Galactic Concordance and Republic law. Despite further acts of defiance to the treaty, the Galactic Senate did not regard the First Order as a serious threat to the Republic. However, the Senate's inaction motivated the Rebel veteran, Princess Leia Organa, to found the Resistance. Although the First Order became entangled in a conflict with Organa's group, the Republic remained its primary target. The Cardassian First Order was a military unit in the Cardassian Guard. The First Order was stationed in the central and rimward areas of the Cardassian Union and is the oldest and most prestigious order in the Guard. It has seen much action against the Klingon Empire but little against the Federation prior to the Dominion War. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon) This Order maintained a presence on Empok Nor until the station's abandonment. Soldiers of its Third Battalion were experimented on with psychotropic drugs, but were known for their fanaticism even before the introduction of the drugs. Elements of this Order, however, were among the first to answer Damar's call to rebellion during the Dominion War. (DS9: "Empok Nor", DS9: "The Changing Face of Evil") In an alternate universe, this Order served as the home guard for the Cardassia system itself. Despite the introduction of the new Galor-class ship, the First Order--and the Cardassian system as a whole--fell to Bajoran invasion in 2325.
