Basso Tromac was a Bajoran collaborator who worked for the Cardassians during the Occupation of Bajor. After the Bajoran women were prepared, Basso instructed them as to what their new duties would entail. Upon realizing that Meru had a scar on the side of her face, Basso attempted to have the woman removed for being "imperfect", but was stopped by Gul Dukat, who healed the scar with a dermal regenerator.

Auf der Station weist Basso ihnen Quartiere zu. Auch sonst ist der Bajoraner für die Frauen verantwortlich und muss dafür sorgen, dass diese sich gut benehmen. Wenn eine der Frauen dies nicht tut, wird sie bestraft. So wird unter Anderem Nerys aus dem cardassianischen Bereich der Station entfernt, nachdem sie gegen die Regeln verstoßen hat.
