Útgarða-Loki
rdfs:comment
In Norse mythology, Útgarða-Loki was a giant and member of the Jötunns also known as Jötnars. His was named with the Útgarða- preceding the word Loki, to differ him from the norse god of the same name. He was the leader of the mountain giants. Útgarða-Loki (ウートガルザ・ロキ Útgarða-Loki?) is a character introduced in Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index. He is a true member of GREMLIN introduced in the series that was sent to watch over Baggage City for Othinus's experiment that was to take place there. Útgarða-Loki (lit. Loki of the Outyards, not to be confused with Loki from Asgard) is one of Gremlin's members, a magician using illusion magic named after the Jötnar/giant that tricked Thor, Loki and Thjálfi with several illusions in Norse Mythology. He was one of the members sent to Baggage City to supervise Gremlin's experiment in the city. He fought Kihara Ransuu there, a battle which seemingly ended up with the two illusionists taking each other out. In Norse mythology, Útgarða-Loki (Anglicized as Utgarda-Loki and Utgard-Loki) was the ruler of the castle Útgarðr in Jötunheimr. He was one of the Jötnar and his name means literally "Loki of the Outyards," to distinguish him from Loki, the companion of Thor.
