Yakov Smirnoff
rdfs:comment
Yakov Smirnoff was the name Citizen Brown referred to Marty McFly by when cooperating with Edna Strickland to keep the Young Emmett Brown from participating from Hill Valley Science Exposition. Yakov Smirnoff is a well-known Russian stand-up comedian (he was born in Ukraine while it was still part of the Soviet Union) who became popular in the United States of America during the 1980s. He currently operates a theater in Branson, Missouri. Smirnoff appeared as a character on the Hexfield Viewscreen during the second Host segment of episode #813 Jack Frost, played by Patrick Brantseg. Hilariously, every single statement he makes is a failed Russian reversal joke. Yakov Naumovich Pokhis, better known as Yakov Smirnoff (born 24 January 1951), is a Soviet-born American comedian, actor and writer. He appears on Night Court as Russian immigrant Yakov Korelenko in 5 episodes, beginning with the episode "Some Like it Hot" in Season 1. He was born "in place of Ukraine" in Soviet Russia in 1951. After three decades of cowering under Big Brother he had had enough, and fled to the greener grass (and greenbacks) of America.
