In 1987, at the height of the Central American civil wars of the 1980s, Victory Games released Central America: The United States' Backyard War. However, with turns representing two days, and scenarios ending within 45 turns at most, the game was not a study of long-term guerrilla warfare. Rather, its scenarios focused on periods of high-intensity combat, such as US invasions of Nicaragua, Sandinista invasions of Honduras, and Tet-style guerrilla offensives. Central America is a central geographic region of the Americas. It is technically the narrow, southernmost portion of the North American continent, which connects with South America on the southeast, but it is also considered a region of the Americas in its own right. Most of Central America is considered to be part of the Mesoamerican biodiversity hotspot. The northernmost part of this region was the ancient home of the Toltec and Mayan civilizations and was visited by Kukulkan in the distant past. (TAS: "How Sharper Than a Serpent's Tooth") In the mid-20th century, Central America was depicted on the mission insignia for Apollo 1, Apollo 7, Apollo 8, Apollo 10, and Apollo 11. (ENT: "First Flight"). It was probable that Central America was labeled on a 20th century-era political map of Earth used in the original "The Cage". However, due to the poor quality of the image and the inability to access the source material, this was far from certain. As approximately half of the map is covered with water, Central America is a map with naval focus. All players start on the mainland, however. There are quite a lot of islands, holding valuable resources such as Gold and Stone Mines and Relics. Central America is the part of America south of the United States and north of Colombia. The countries that comprise Central America are Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama and these are all poor Third World countries. Central America is mainly agricultural with subsistence farming by poor people and large estates growing cash crops like banana coffee and cotton. The culture of many inhabitants is a mixture between Spanish and indigenous American. Central America has suffered a great deal from crime, Civil rights violations and dictatorship generally. Central America is the term for the relatively narrow stretch of land connecting the continents of North America and South America. The region is considered part of North America. It included several nations and colonies, including Guatemala and British Honduras. Mack Stanton joined a team to Central America that was searching for a ruined long-lost city. The expedition was little more than an opportunity for their rich patron to experience an exciting holiday, but it encouraged Stanton's interest in adventurous archaeological field work. Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. Central America is known as a jungle today. The scientific significance of this area is a volcano erupted 2 million years ago and formed the Isthmus of Panama. This marked the end of some species from North and South America. Unlike Mexico and the Central America, Central America, while not under the effective control of the Confederate States, was not inclined to show any friendly appearances toward the United States either. While most people agreed it would be convenient if a canal was built somewhere in Central America for shipping, the US and the CS could not agree on who would build the canal and who would control it. Each threatened to go to war with the other, if either one tried go ahead with a project to build a canal. US President Alfred Thayer Mahan famously shot down one such CS proposal in Nicaragua. Is Central America (Spanish: América Central or Centroamérica) is the central geographic region of the Americas. It is the southernmost, isthmian portion of the North American continent, which connects with South America on the southeast. When considered part of the unified continental model, it is considered a subcontinent. Central America consists of the seven states of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Central America is part of the Mesoamerican biodiversity hotspot, which extends from northern Guatemala through central Panama. It is bordered by Mexico to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the east, the North Pacific Ocean to the west, and Colombia to the south-east. Central America has an area of 524,000 square kilometers (202,000 sq mi), or almost 0.1% of the Earth's surface. As of 2009, its population was estimated at 41,739,000. It has a density of 77 people per square kilometer or 206 people per square mile. This article is a . You can help My English Wiki by expanding it. Central America, or Mexico's Mexico, is a geographical region between North and South America, located roughly in the center between the two continents. In 1941, Indiana Jones traveled around the countries of Panama and Costa Rica while tracking down clues that would lead him to the Akashic Hall of Records. Central America is the central geographic region of the Americas. The ancestral "sacred land" of the Rubber Tree People was located in the rainforests of Central America, where some of their descendants still lived in the 24th century. They believed the Sky Spirits had led them there. Kolopak once took his son Chakotay on an expedition to Central America to find them. (VOY: "Tattoo") When the USS Voyager was accidentally transported from 2373 to 1996, Chakotay speculated he could work as an archaeologist in Central America, if there were no way back to the 24th century. According to Chakotay, important discoveries still were to be made in this time, which could even earn him a Nobel Prize. (VOY: "Future's End, Part II") A 21st century-era political map of Earth was stored in the USS Enterprise's library computer in 2254. The North American continent was seen on this map. This map was among the materials viewed by the Talosians when they scanned the Enterprise computer. (TOS-R: "The Cage" ) It was probable that Central America was labeled on a 20th century-era political map of Earth used in the original "The Cage". However, due to the poor quality of the image and the inability to access the source material, this was far from certain. Central America was the Bridge between North and South America. This was one of the regions Scott Bernard visited on his journey to North America. Scott Bernard visited a region called Panama, which was the southern most of the Central American states. Rather, its scenarios focused on periods of high-intensity combat, such as US invasions of Nicaragua, Sandinista invasions of Honduras, and Tet-style guerrilla offensives. As a result of this limited timeframe, its depictions of an American invasion of Sandinista Nicaragua are akin to a simulation of the Iraq War that ends when the US captures Baghdad. This was not what most wargamers were looking for. Despite this lukewarm reaction from purchasers, it won the Charles S. Roberts Award for Best Post-World War II Board Game of 1987. Central America is a part of the America doublecontinent, located between North America and South America. The "Land of Green Fire" crossover between the Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Flaming Carrot are set there. There is a great deal of biodiversity in Central America which environmentalists care about. Roughly 30 million people live in Central America. Rain happens most between May and November. The Atlantic and Pacific oceans border Central America as does the Caribbean. Parts of Central America are mountainous and other parts are low lying. There are volcanoes in Central America and volcanic eruptions can be devastating as can hurricanes. Mining, oil drilling and overexploitation of timber has caused environmental problems in many Central American countries.
