) Female Changeling Female Changeling "Part of the Dominion? Major, the Changelings are the Dominion." – Female Changeling, 2371 ("The Search, Part II" ) The Female Changeling was a Founder from a rogue planet located in the Omarion Nebula, in the Gamma Quadrant. She was chosen by the Great Link, a giant gelatinous sea of shapeshifters, to represent the interests of the Changelings in both the Gamma and Alpha Quadrants and instigated a bloody, genocidal interstellar war in order to conquer their inhabitants and worlds and subjugate them to the rules of the Dominion: a major galactic political power established by the Founders to defend their interests at all costs. The Female Changeling harbored a particular mistrust and hatred towards non-Changelings – whom she referred to as solids – believing them to be infinitely inferior and unworthy beings by design. She was trapped in the Alpha Quadrant during the start of the Dominion War and helped coordinate the Dominion's war efforts, ultimately leading to the destruction of hundreds of worlds and the death and suffering of hundreds of millions of people. The Female Changeling ultimately paid the price for the millions of lives lost when Starfleet forced her to sign the Treaty of Bajor that ended the war and took her into custody. Alias No information Origin No information Occupation No information Powers/Skills No information Hobby No information Goals No information Type of Villain No information The Female Changeling was a highly destructive and memorable Star Trek villain who acted as the chief antagonist of the Dominion War saga in Star Trek Deep Space 9. She was portrayed by Salome Jens. The Female Changeling's actual name, if any, is unknown. In credits she was referred to as the Female Changeling. At the conclusion of the Dominion War she signed the peace treaty, indicating that she may have a proper name, but it was not revealed in the episode or subsequent media. Like many of her species she was deeply xenophobic towards non-Changelings but went much further than most in her aims of destroying them, to the point it is argued she is responsible for the deaths of billions as well as the destruction of possibly hundreds of worlds. The Female Changeling was a Founder of the Dominion and represented them in many of their dealing with the Alpha Quadrant powers during the 2370s. She entered the Alpha Quadrant prior to the mining of the Bajoran Wormhole by Starfleet and was trapped away from her people. She was considered the leader of the Dominion forces within the Alpha Quadrant, though she left much of the organisation and prosecution of the war to the Vorta and senior Cardassian and then Breen military leaders. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) After the Dominion reinforcements failed to appear from the Gamma Quadrant and a vast number of Starfleet and Klingons ships heading to attack Deep Space 9 she ordered all her forces to retreat back into Cardassian territory. (DS9: "Sacrifice of Angels") After the Dominion was isolated and surrounded at Cardassia Prime she surrendered her forces and handed herself over to the Federation Alliance. (DS9: "What You Leave Behind")
